Use File/Print from your browser menu to print. An African Hot Sauce (in Washington) An all-purpose hot sauce. What you need: 1/4 pound hot peppers 1/4 pound sweet green pepper One clove garlic One medium onion Two jars tomato paste (7 oz) Four tablespoons vinegar One teaspoon sugar One teaspoon salt What you do: Remove stems and seeds from peppers. *Careful! Wear kitchen gloves! Do NOT touch your eyes or face while handling hot peppers! Do not touch the dog! Do not perform brain surgery! Do not change the baby's diaper! Do not do the hoky-pokey! Wash your hands with soap and water after you have handled hot peppers Grind hot peppers, green pepper, garlic, and onion in a food processor. Combine all ingredients in sauce pan. Simmer for an hour or two. (evacuate the house if necessary) Add cayenne pepper if desired. Put in jars and refrigerate. Serve with everything.
